CONCO Energy Solutions: New look, expanded offerings

11 November 2014 – Consolidated Power Projects’ (CONCO’s) Protection and Automation division, well-respected in the industry for its highest quality design, engineering, in-house manufacture and commissioning of protection and control equipment, has a new look and a new name. Called CONCO Energy Solutions, the division has expanded its offerings to meet the needs of its customers and to take advantage of opportunities in the marketplace.

Andreas Richelmann, CONCO Energy Solutions divisional manager, explains these changes: “Added to our core business of providing high quality protection and automation solutions for major substation projects, we have widened our scope of supply by expanding our offerings to include low voltage products (MCC’s), Battery Chargers and batteries, Smart Grid Solutions and a wide variety of telecommunication solutions. We are also aiming to tap into the supply contract market whereby we will provide products that are non-project specific. With our experience in working on large substation projects, we can ensure that what we supply is the best solution for the customer and that it is fully integrated. By taking full responsibility for the customer solution, we ensure that all areas of the control room are covered.”

Exceeding its already extensive offering, CONCO Energy Solutions is investing in expanding the technical expertise within the organisation to offer solutions that take full advantage of the benefits of Smart Grid applications in order to meet the needs of the highly anticipated Smart Grid technology entering the African market.

“Through our new name, logo and premises,” explains Andreas, “it is our aim to be more independent and to attract customers external to the CONCO group in order to expand our customer base. With an holistic approach to business and understanding all aspects of a substation, we believe we are well placed to tap into the new markets.”

CONCO Energy Solutions has well-established relationships with reputable manufacturers both locally and internationally, enabling it to source high quality products that best suit the customer’s technical and budget requirements.
